1. Who we are and who provides the services
The tours presented on nomad-exped.ro are intermediated by NOMAD EXPED S.R.L., registered office at Str. Gavril Drugănescu nr. 10, sat Stoenești, com. Florești-Stoenești, jud. Giurgiu, tax identification number (CUI) 52437165, Trade Register no. J2025066529001, hereinafter “Nomad Exped”. The contact person is Sorin Chineață, sorin@nomad-exped.ro.
The tourism services at the destination (for example guides, accommodation, local transport, permits and park fees) are provided by a local partner agency in the destination country, named in the offer for each tour. Sorin Chineață, the founder of Nomad Exped, accompanies the group for the whole tour as group leader.
2. What these terms cover
These terms apply to bookings made through the website, by e-mail or by direct message. Together with the offer for the chosen tour and the contract we sign at booking, they form the agreement between you and Nomad Exped. If the offer for a tour provides otherwise than these terms, the offer applies.
3. Booking and payment
Your place is booked once we have confirmed availability with the partner agency and you have paid the deposit set out in the tour offer. The balance is paid by the date in the offer. For example, for Everest Base Camp 2027 the deposit is €600 at booking, and the balance is paid before 1 February 2027.
Departure date. In these terms, the departure date is day 1 of the tour programme, as shown on the tour page (for example 12 April 2027 for Everest Base Camp), even when the group flight leaves Romania the day before. Every period "before departure" below is counted from this date. In packages that combine two tours, each tour has its own departure date.
Prices are in euros, per person, and include only the services listed under “Included in the price” on each tour page. Payment is made by bank transfer, to the account given in the tour offer and in the booking confirmation. We never ask for payment into any account other than the one in these documents.
Payment can also be made in instalments, if we agree on this before booking.
Group discount. If, 60 days before the departure date, the group of a tour has at least 10 participants who have paid the deposit, each participant on that tour receives a discount of €100. The price in the contract does not change: the discount is deducted from the last payment or instalment, and participants who have already paid in full are refunded €100 by bank transfer, within 14 days of the date of the check at the latest. The discount applies separately to each tour.
4. What is not included
International flights, visas, travel insurance, tips, personal equipment and personal expenses are not included unless the tour offer says otherwise. The full list is on each tour page.
5. Changes to the programme
The tours take place in mountain or wilderness areas, where the weather, domestic flights and the state of the roads can change the plan. The local guide, together with the group leader, may adjust the pace, order or stages for the safety of the group and to keep the tour as close as possible to the original programme. Such adjustments do not give a right to compensation, provided the main services remain the same.
If a main service has to be changed significantly before departure, we will tell you immediately and you can choose between accepting the change and withdrawing from the tour with a refund of the amounts paid.
6. Cancellation by you
You can withdraw from the tour at any time before departure by telling us in writing by e-mail. Depending on how close to departure you cancel, the following amounts are retained:
- more than 90 days before departure: the deposit is retained, less any costs that can still be recovered from the partners, which we refund to you;
- between 60 and 90 days before departure: 50% of the tour price is retained;
- between 30 and 59 days before departure: 75% of the tour price is retained;
- less than 30 days before departure, or if you do not show up: 100% of the tour price is retained.
The amounts retained cover costs already paid to the partner agency and local suppliers (permits, accommodation, guides, domestic transport), which are not refundable. We recommend travel insurance that also covers cancellation.
You can transfer your place to another person who meets the conditions for taking part, by telling us at least 7 days before departure. Any transfer costs (for example, changing the name on permits or tickets) are paid by the person taking over the place.
7. Cancellation of the tour
A tour may be cancelled if the minimum number of participants set out in the offer is not reached, with notice to you within the period provided by law, or because of unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances (for example, conflicts, natural disasters, official travel restrictions). In these cases we refund in full the amounts you paid for the tour.
8. Insurance
For high-altitude tours, travel medical insurance covering high-altitude trekking and helicopter evacuation is mandatory. For Island Peak, it must also cover mountaineering up to at least 6,200 m. For the other tours it is strongly recommended. I will help you choose the right cover, but you take out the insurance yourself, before departure.
9. Health and preparation
On each tour page we describe how demanding the route is. Taking part requires a state of health and a level of fitness suited to the effort. Please tell us in good time about any relevant medical condition and talk to your doctor before high-altitude tours. The local guide or the group leader may decide, for your safety, that you should not continue the ascent if you show signs of altitude sickness or other risks.
10. Travel documents
You need a passport valid for at least 6 months after your return date and the entry documents the destination country asks for. For Nepal, a visa on arrival: USD 50 for 30 days. For Tanzania, Romanian citizens need no visa for stays of up to 90 days, but the NIC entry medical insurance (USD 44, bought online) is compulsory and the passport must have at least one blank page. Obtaining the documents is your responsibility; we will tell you in good time what you need.
11. Liability
Nomad Exped is liable, as provided by law, for the intermediation services and for the group being accompanied by the group leader. The tourism services at the destination are provided by the local partner agency, which is liable for their performance; if a problem arises with these services, we will help you resolve it with the agency. We are not liable for services you buy separately (for example, international flights), nor for situations caused by failure to follow the instructions of the guide or the group leader, or the rules of the national parks.
12. Complaints
If something is not right during the tour, tell the group leader or the guide straight away, or write to us, so that we can sort it out on the spot. After the tour, you can send us a complaint at sorin@nomad-exped.ro. You can also contact the Romanian National Authority for Consumer Protection (Autoritatea Națională pentru Protecția Consumatorilor, anpc.ro), including through its alternative dispute resolution procedure (SAL).
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by Romanian law, including consumer protection legislation. We will try to settle any disagreement amicably; failing that, the courts of Romania have jurisdiction.
14. Contact
