Seven days through the parks of northern Tanzania
The programme crosses northern Tanzania from Tarangire to the Mara river, close to the Kenyan border, and ends in the Ngorongoro crater. You have two nights and a full day in the Mara river area, where, at this time of year, the wildebeest and zebra herds often pass through the northern Serengeti.
You travel in a private Land Cruiser 4x4 with a pop-up roof, so you can stand up to take photos, with a local driver-guide who speaks English.

- Parks
- Tarangire, Central Serengeti, Northern Serengeti, Ngorongoro crater

- Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO)
The migration of the wildebeest and zebra herds depends on the rains and changes from year to year, so we cannot guarantee it. Even without river crossings, the northern Serengeti and the Mara river are among the best safari areas in East Africa, with lions, elephants, hippos and Nile crocodiles.

We leave early for Tarangire, the park with one of the largest concentrations of elephants in northern Tanzania. Among the old baobabs and dry riverbeds you see elephant families digging for water in the sand. In the afternoon we drive up to Karatu, in the highlands near Ngorongoro.

22SeptWednesdayDay 3 of 7Wednesday · Day 3The plains of the SerengetiKaratu → Ngorongoro Conservation Area → Central Serengeti
We cross the Ngorongoro highlands and drop down onto the Serengeti plains. In the centre of the park we look for lions resting on the kopjes, the granite outcrops of the savanna, leopards in the acacias and cheetahs stalking gazelles. The day ends with a sunset game drive before camp.

23SeptThursdayDay 4 of 7Thursday · Day 4North, through the Lobo ValleyCentral Serengeti → Lobo Valley → Northern Serengeti
We head north through the Lobo Valley. The plain gives way to hills, and along the way we see the animals that live in the area all year round and, if the migration is passing through, the wildebeest herds moving towards the Kenyan border. We reach the Mara river area in the late afternoon, a river full of hippos and crocodiles.

24SeptFridayDay 5 of 7Friday · Day 5A full day at the Mara riverThe banks of the Mara river, Northern Serengeti
We have the whole day for the Mara river area and the plains of the northern Serengeti. If the wildebeest herds are nearby, we wait on the bank for the moment they start to cross, through the current, steep banks and Nile crocodiles. If not, the guide takes us wherever the animals are that day. This is the day worth the patience and a good telephoto lens.

25SeptSaturdayDay 6 of 7Saturday · Day 6Back towards NgorongoroNorthern Serengeti → Ngorongoro Conservation Area
We take a last morning game drive in the northern Serengeti, then set off south towards the higher, cooler Ngorongoro highlands. It is the day with the most hours on the road in the programme. We reach the lodge on the crater rim in the late afternoon, where at sunset you watch the clouds roll down the walls of the caldera.

How payment and the group discount work
The balance can be paid in full or in instalments agreed together, by the date in the card.
The discount applies if, 60 days before departure, the group has reached the threshold in the card, with every participant's deposit paid. It comes off the last payment or instalment, and if you have already paid in full, we refund it by bank transfer within 14 days.
What is holding you back?
The price. You do not pay it all at once: first the deposit, then the balance, in full or in instalments we agree on (the amounts and dates are in the card). If the group reaches 10 participants, you also get the group discount.
See what the price includesThe effort. A safari asks for no real physical effort: you spend the days in the vehicle, with frequent stops. The days are long and the roads dusty, but the lodges and camps are comfortable.
